Picnic Rentals
The City of Milpitas has small, medium, and large picnic areas located at parks throughout the City — perfect for all kinds of outdoor celebrations. For larger and more popular sites, we recommend you rent six months in advance to guarantee your exclusive use of the picnic area of your choice. When not rented, our smaller picnic sites are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reservations
Picnic area reservations can now be requested online via ActiveNet, in person at our Recreation centers, or by emailing the Community Center. Picnic reservations are not considered final until staff has responded to your inquiry with a confirmed reservation and sent your Picnic Area Reserved signs to you.

Additional Information
Park and picnic site capacities are determined based on the amount of available parking. The four types of parks are large parks, medium parks, small parks with restrooms, and small parks without restrooms. Large parks require a credit card on file as a deposit. Your reservation is limited to picnic tables and BBQ grills. The park is still available for public use, i.e. playground, grass area, and unused tables/grills. Groups can bring their own tables/grills and use the grass area. Refunds will not be issued for canceled picnic area reservations. A credit (minus the application fee) may be initiated if a cancellation is made prior to 30 days of the rental date. The reservation can be moved to another date, but a $30 transfer fee will be charged if your original reservation is within 30 days and may require management approval. In the case of a rainout, the applicant has two days after the event to contact Recreation Services for a full credit. The credit will be issued to the applicant's City of Milpitas account, which can be used for other Recreation programming or reservations.
